The Global Korea Scholarship is the representative scholarship program by the Korean Government, aiming to contribute in the development of global talents through the establishment of international friendly networks and inter-country educational exchanges.

The program selects notable foreign applicants and actively supports their completion of the undergraduate (graduate) degree courses at the Korean universities.

Since the invitation of six students in 1967,more than 9,100 students from 155 countries have successfully completed the program.​

The Korean Government supports various activities for alumni through mutual network based on the GKS Alumni Association of 73 Chapters from 67 countries. The GKS alumni are playing major key roles in their respective fields, reinforcing the ever growing relationship between Korea and their home countries.
